As regional leaders, Cactus has developed a deep library of best practices that are built into their everyday approach. Exceeding minimum goals and improving the schedule, budget, and quality of each project had become so second nature to this team that these elements no longer stood out to them. Through team charrettes and focus groups, Mission Critical broke down the team’s approach and highlighted each improvement, from schedule acceleration to safety. Through this process, our writing staff was able to communicate to the City’s selection committee exactly how Cactus was prepared to not only meet but exceed their goals for this project.

One of the critical betterments Cactus offered the City was a 50% reduction in work windows. The City specified a 14-day response window that Cactus was prepared to adhere to, but through more detailed questioning, we discovered their approach was actually much faster, having planned for response and completion windows of just 7 days.

Cactus Asphalt brought a wealth of experience and ability to this pursuit, and the ability to convey their best practices and process improvements to the City of Phoenix’s Water Services Department won them this contract. This represents Cactus’s first contract with the Water Services Department, and we look forward to their successful working relationship.
