Myers & Sons Construction, LLC had a significant win with the City of Fort Collins!
In addition to this project being the first for Myers in the City of Fort Collins, this was the City’s first CMGC procurement. Myers & Sons has had previous Colorado CMGC experience, and Mission Critical helped demonstrate that experience to the City by managing the proposal for this two-stage CMGC procurement.
The project aims to improve the busy intersection of Horsetooth and College, a critical junction for the seasonal traffic influxes of the growing city that is home to Colorado State University. As the first CMGC for the City and the first pursuit in the region for Myers, the Statement of Qualifications’ composition was crucial. Mission Critical worked with Myers to demonstrate their qualifications as a CMGC partner, Maintenance of Traffic expert, and roadway constructor to support the City’s goals.
The limited page count added the challenge of condensing the extensive list of qualifications of personnel, experience, technical construction, and CMGC approach into the proposal to win with no prior relationship with the procuring agency. In such a concise proposal, every word had to count, the page layouts and utilization of space were a high priority, and the creation and placement of graphics and visual aids had to be thoughtful and deliberate. Mission Critical fielded a drone crew to capture aerial photos of the intersection and adjacent areas to source the most impactful images to support the technical approach narratives.
After shortlisting, Myers used these photos for the interview stage of the procurement. The interview preparation was also managed by Mission Critical to ensure clear, concise conveyance of the team’s abilities and to lay the foundations of partnership with the City. After being awarded, the project will begin in February 2018. We are proud to have assisted Myers & Sons Construction once again and to have won such a significant pursuit as the first project for Myers in Fort Collins and the first CMGC procurement for the City. We look forward to working with Myers again in the future on more City of Fort Collins alternative delivery project pursuits.
